PROJECTS AND DEVELOPMENTS

Continued investment in City Airport is underway to further promote the airfield for business and general aviation use allowing the users to benefit from the easy access to the City of Salford, Manchester City Centre and the surrounding area.

Current projects in the pipeline include;

• Refurbishment of Terminal Building.
  The brick building at the entrance to the Airport (formally the original ‘Manchester Airport’ Terminal building, is being refurbished as part of the Veterans Garage Charity project.
   

• Site landscaping and signage improvements
  Continuous improvements to the general site landscaping, appearance and upkeep are being made when opportunities allow
   

• Aircraft Hangarage
  Our new Hangar has provided additional aircraft accommodation at the airfield meeting the continuing demand for such facilities in the region.
   

• Runway and Taxyway improvements
  Continued improvements to the runway surfaces including additional drainage and grading works.

• Growth in Events and Public Footfall
  We are committed to diversifying our offer to ensure that the airport can be sustainable for the future. To do this it is important that we encourage regular and new visitors by continuing to promote aviation and be a strong asset to the local community. To achieve this, we are continuing to explore opportunities that make full use of the land and facilities, growing established and introducing new events each year.
