Current Airport status

 

City Airport remains closed to the general public at this time with the exception of certain flying activities under reduced operating hours as detailed below. We also remain available for specific Emergency Services, Military flights and other pre-approved essential flights outside these hours.

Flights by General Aviation

On 15th May, the Government has published updated advice which means that recreational GA flying is now permitted (within England), providing that social distancing measures strictly observed. In practice this means that only solo flights, or flights where everyone is from the same household, are permitted. The full statement can be found on the Government Website.

Return to Flying activities

 

We are now operating a phased return to flying plan with increasing opening dates and hours in line with growing sustainable business activity and with consideration to government, regulatory, insurance and employee requirements.

We will not be immediately returning to 'normal operations' and initially we will have reduced opening hours on specific days, with additional pre-booking requirements to ensure a measured and safe operation as we increase our activity.

Flights and Lessons

If you have flights or lessons booked please contact your Flying School directly for information about rebooking. If you have an experience voucher you will need to contact the company that sold you the voucher, or the Flying School that is undertaking the flight. All events through to the end of July are presently cancelled.

We will continue to assess the present situation with regard to our calendar of events later through the year.

Flying a Drone?

Although we have reduced flights through this period, we still require all drone flights within our Flight Restricted Zone to be submitted for approval. Please visit www.cityairportandheliport.com/drones

Access to site. 

Please be advised that our site is closed and is locked secure. We ask that you do not visit us as you will be unable to gain access unless specific arrangements have been made.

In conjunction with our site security team we can arrange limited access only to individual tenants and aircraft owners on a pre-approved, advance notice basis. Please note that it will be the pilots own responsibility to ensure social distancing rules are maintained, in accordance with Government guidelines in force at the time. 

Landing Cards

If you hold, or have recently held a landing card, we have emailed you separately with regard to its current status and changes we are introducing to reduce the impact the closure has on these validities. If you wish to get in touch about your Landing Card, please see the contact details below. Notice to all tenants, suppliers, customers and clients of the Peel Group

Due to the current emergency situation resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, all offices of the Peel Group are currently unstaffed with all employees following the Government directive to work from home and as a consequence of this, the Group is unable to accept delivery by post or in person of any documentation including formal notices or legal documents.
